Exploring the United States

 

Be Careful online! 

Don’t click on the flashing banners and ads!

 

1.     Go to the “Stately Knowledge” page at  http://www.ipl.org/div/kidspace/stateknow/skhome.html and click on the name of your state to find out about it.

 

2.     Visit the Information Please Almanac site to find even more information about your state: http://www.infoplease.com/states.html . Choose your state and click on it. Go to the very bottom of the page about your state and click on the “print” symbol – this gives you a good page to print out.

 

3.     Look up your state on the list of “Fifty Fun Facts” at http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0770175.html  and write down your state’s Fun Fact on your worksheet.

 

4.     For a state map to print out, choose your state at http://www.enchantedlearning.com/usa/statesbw/ .

 

5. Find your state flag at http://www.enchantedlearning.com/usa/flags/ . Click on it and you will have a state flag and quiz to print out. Be sure to choose the link that says “Flag/Quiz Printout.”
